Whew! This has been a big month. You have started walking, talking a little bit, you had your first haircut and your first trip to Neiman Marcus. You have also started to assert your will in the way that only toddlers can do.
Of course, you make misbehaving funny. Right after throwing food off your high chair for millionth time, you look at me very soberly and say “ba ba ba ba ba” (translation “bad, bad bad bad”) while smacking your hand. I have never hit you on the hand, but have done the tisk tisk motion and you, of course, picked it right up.
You have also decided that you don’t want to go to sleep. You are still a great sleeper (touch wood), but when I say “OK, time to get in your crib”, you cuddle up to me like “nonononono! One more story!” It’s very cute and it works every time.
I feel like I have said “No” or some variation of it about a billion times the last month. You are just very interested in how things work and why shouldn’t you be able to take the cap of my lipstick and eat it?
You are still giving out kisses like a madwoman. The other week at about 4 in the morning I heard “mmmmmma!, mmmmmmmma!” and then you went back to sleep. I can only assume that Hoot woke up scared from a dream and you were just making it all better.
I am really enjoying our walks to the park and I love to see you explore a little and play on the jungle gym. You seem to be enjoying your new found mobility and the freedom it gives you. Of course, our trips to the park always end up with you sitting in the dirt scooping it up.
While you are completely exhausting, you are also a delight beyond words and I am enjoying this stage immensely!
Kisses to you little pumpkin!
