Personality plus! I always thought I’d be SO sad when you turned into a toddler. I suppose I will miss you being a little lump of baby, but having such a comedienne in the house is way fun. Just today, you climbed up my back while I was sitting, pulled my barrette out of my hair, and started laughing like you just told the best joke ever. I believe this was a desperate attempt to get Stacy (your favorite mom in the mom’s group) to pay attention to you. It worked.
This month you have learned to ‘find mommy’s belly button’ (by lifting up my shirt – an appropriate game to play at home only), you stood by yourself for a few seconds, you can climb anything (important word being CAN…you don’t always WANT to), but you enjoy climbing on me the most. You sit in a circle on the hardwoods and spin around on your bottom and laugh and laugh. Chasing people is high comedy – Mom and Dad get their workouts by running around the house with you. You can walk holding onto only one hand, although you are much faster when you’re holding onto both. I think you will be a late walker, but that is OK.
Mealtimes are a little tricky, not because you are a picky eater, but you are always very interested in what I am eating. I don’t know if you think I’m serving you something subpar, but if it doesn’t come off my plate, you are not eating it. I did learn the other day that if I wait you out, you will eat what I give you. I just have to be willing to ignore the moaning for 15 minutes.
I think you said “dada” to your dad last night. You should know that your chances of getting a pony or anything else that you could possibly want were never higher than at that moment. It’s a shame you don’t know more words.
Books and music are still big winners. I really enjoy your attempts at ‘dancing’.
Baby signing is progressing nicely. The funniest part is when you are frustrated and you don’t know which sign to use. You’ll rattle off “milk, more, all done” in rapid succession until you get whatever it is you want. You are also visibly annoyed that the signs for ‘book’ and ‘more’ are so similar. You will get them figured out soon.
Way to go on 11 months! You don’t know this yet, but you are only 31 days from all you can eat cake!
We love you little pumpkin!
