The final day of swim class is called Swimkana. It is a BIG deal because you get a trophy and parents are allowed in to the pool area to watch class. Did I mention the trophy? Because I think Savannah mentioned it about 2700 times in the weeks leading up to the last class.
Savannah has come a LONG way from last year’s Swimkana. Last May she wouldn’t even put her face in the water and this year, she jumped off the side, knows the breast stroke, freestyle and backstroke and loves to play in the pool. FINALLY!
She was in a group with all boys and I think their more athletic nature really helped to push her a bit. Just today she was telling me how much she missed ‘those boys’.
We are very proud of how far she’s come.
