POTD: Toes!

It’s almost like I’m not even gone huh? The posts are appearing as if by magic! Internet magic!

I got a pedicure the other day and Savannah was so fascinated by my toes that she had to have one too.

Chubby Feet!

POTD: Uncle Damian, the Statue of Liberty and her Burrito

So Uncle Damian travels back and forth to New York for work quite a bit and this last time, her brought Savannah back a little Statue of Liberty – Awesome!

Savannah loved it, of course. As she was looking at, she stopped for a minute and asked “Where is her Burrito?” much to the delight of her Daddy and I.

You see, we frequent this incredible burrito shop that has, as its tag line “It’s Not Normal”. In addition to great burritos, they have crazy decor, which includes the Statue of Liberty, busting through a wall, riding a motorcycle and holding, you guessed it, a burrito. So, of course, Savannah thinks that the Statue of Liberty (pronounced ‘libooree’) always holds a burrito.
Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning for a monster steak on flour tortilla……

Said Uncle and Niece.

Man, that was funny.

Over & Out

I am heading up to Dallas this week and then on to Las Vegas for a few days of R&R with Conor.

Fear not, though – I have preposted a few posts that should be showing up at times this week, so you will not be without your Savannah Jane fix (all 15 of you).

Have a great week!

Head trauma

…not Savannah’s! Mine! I’m an idiot.

For those of you keeping up with the work blog…. Here’s the story lifted from the work blog. I really am OK, but am dreading the impending headache. I have a bunch of posts planned for this week, so check back often.

Conor is out of town. I thought I’d be hip mom and take Savannah to
Central Market for dinner and some playground time. Dinner was great – we got
gelato afterwards and then settled in for some playground time. I was chasing
after her on the playground.

We were playing this game where I’d sneak up on her and scare her – she
loves it. However, I misjudged a height and cracked the heck out of my head on a
metal support. There was blood, there were paramedics, there was a nauseous
Shannon. It was all very horrible and totally scary as I had no support at home.

THANK YOU to the lovely strangers at Central Market that took care of me
and my daughter. THANK YOU to my wonderful neighbors who checked on me all
night. Seriously, Texans are the best – THE BEST!!!

I am in general OK – I have a massive headache. I, of course, took pictures
of my bloody head and will get around to posting them soon, but I wanted to let
you know that in addition to a concussed head, I will be taking a little R&R
week around here. It was actually planned in advance, but I’ll be a bit slow on
email and phone calls. Please call with any photographic emergencies. I’m always
happy to chat!
