Preschool Gossip

A few weeks ago, Savannah got a time out at school. She kept running away from her teachers (all the way out of the classroom, down the hall and into the front room) and they made her sit for two minutes. I think I’ve mentioned that she HATES timeouts and they have been pretty helpful for us in disciplining her.

We also used the occasion as a learning experience. We talked about how you should listen to your teachers and do what they say. Well, every day before school she now tells us “You will not run away and you will not get any timeouts” Great.

Tonight Conor asked her if she had any timeouts at school and she said “No, but someone ellllllse diiiiiiid.” She then told us all about the offender (name withheld) and his crime (throwing things). It was a good bit of preschool gossip.

I was working today, so Savannah was with Conor. He relayed this conversation to me:

Savannah: “Guess what you (again, meaning her) got on Mama yesterday?

Conor: “I don’t know, what?”

Savannah: “PUKE!!!!!”

Nice.

It was time

As many of you know, parenthood is full of many gross things. I had escaped one of those things until today.

Savannah threw up on me. Directly on me. Ewwwwww……..

She was a pukey baby, so she would spit up milk from time to time, but she has never thrown up full on.

The scary thing was that the puking was followed by a really bad rash that spread all over her face and body. She had a reaction to something, but we are not sure what. She doesn’t have any food allergies that we know of, so we’re not sure what happened.

It’s been about 7 hours and the rash is getting better, but is still there. The pediatric nurse said that she’s probably fine, but that was a little scary. We’ll keep watching her, but her breathing is good and she seems happy enough.

There is a really gross pile of laundry in the machine though……..
