POTD | Photographer’s Assistant

The other week I helped some wedding planner friends of mine with detail shots at a wedding. As a quick sidebar, can you believe how beautiful this table set up is? Holy Moley I wish I had known these girls when I got married. They make the MOST beautiful things!

Anyway, I had to bring Savannah with me as it was right after school and I think Conor was out of town.

Look how cute she is ‘helping!’. I have about 200 photos of this set up on my iPhone now.

Disney!

Oh Disneyworld was SO fun! It was the perfect Girls’ Weekend for the two of us and I teared up several times watching Savannah experience everything. Disney is basically kid Las Vegas and has some cheesy things about it, but if you have a little kid, please take them at least once. It really is magical. Plus the Disney folks do things RIGHT. Everyone that works there is incredible. The parades were amazing and my child was treated like royalty for no other reason than she was there.

We also loved being there in the Fall. Totally recommended. We went to the Halloween Party and it was a ball. I mean…trick or treating at Disneyworld? hello. Don’t go in the summer. It’s humid enough in October.

We basically spent our time in the Magic Kingdom with an afternoon at Epcot. The Food and Wine festival was going on and I loved that. Mama could have spent some more time in ‘France’ sampling wine, but we settled on a crepe and lunch with Remi at Chefs de France. The fun part of that restaurant is that all of the staff is actually French, so Savannah was once again told what a beautiful French accent she has. Pre-school keeps paying off.

I was thrilled that Safety Patrol Cunningham was actually loved all of the rides. It was a concern going in. But as of now, we have a roller-coater lover. Space Mountain was the first thing she went on and she loved it! I think her favorite was the Haunted Mansion. My favorite ride was the Peter Pan adventure. We had a Fast Pass for that ride, which lets you skip to the front of the line, where, my very tactful kid said “I’m glad we’re not back there waiting with all of THOSE suckers!!”.

I have some other videos to post eventually, but I will not soon forget how much fun we had.

Video Wednesday | Election Flashback

You know – people have lots of opinions about the results of our last election.

But oh man – this video from nearly 4 years ago. I was trying to be a good parent and explain the importance of the peaceful transisiton of power and how cool it was…and then…

Enjoy…no matter if you are R or D the ‘Oh pizza!’ will make your day. By the way, who is that tiny baby girl?

Also, Savannah LOVED seeing her three-year old self. She has asked to watch this video several times tonight.

POTD | Halloween History Parade

Yes, two costumes this year. This one is for the theme parade at school. Last year it was math-themed. This year was history. Savannah is the last Pharoh, Queen of the Nile, Cleopatra. I made this costume and it was a real nail-biter if I was going to finish on time. It worked out though and it didn’t fall apart! ( I will admit there was a glue gun used in the final stages of this project. Make it work, indeed!)

Also, I love the this particular Cleo decided that her uniform knee socks were a good addition.
