For some reason, Savannah became terrified of the bathroom scale today. This was completely out of left field as Conor and her were playing on it just last night.

Is it wrong that I thought it was really, really funny that she wouldn’t walk by it and just buried her head in my legs while whimpering? It’s probably wrong, but it was really funny. Conor and her had a little ‘facing your fears’ moment when he got home and I think she’s now OK with the scale. I hope this is not an eating disorder in the making.

On a completely unrelated note, if you haven’t tried chocolate Altoids yet, you should get your hands on a box. They are fantastic.

Lately, Savannah is very interested in opening and closing doors. I surprised her as she opened the guest room door this weekend.

Note all the boxes in the background. Please let a good house come on the market!!!!! I’m sick of boxes.

I went to get my haircut this morning, so Conor was flying solo on Dad duty. He promised Savannah some swing time at the park. I forgot to get the stroller out of my trunk – oops.

Because he is super dad, he carried her all the way to the park. That’s a long way to carry 25 pounds of wiggling.

They took a self portrait once they were there. Note the little key thingy Savannah is holding. It’s the timer remote, so this picture was actually taken by Savannah! Yea!

christine - she’s a natural!

15-month stats

We went to the pediatrician this morning. As has been typical of late, there was some freaking out. It started the second we walked into the room. I was expecting it this time though, so I didn’t feel as sad.

It was almost kind of funny because the freaking out was SOOOOOO out of proportion with what was happening to her. “You’re going to measure my head? NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!” I mean, come on.

Here are her stats:

32 inches tall (90%)

25 pounds, 1.7 ounces (80% – She’s only gained 6 ounces from her last visit. She is a calorie burning fool because she NEVER stops moving)

48.3 cm head diameter (97%- Oh my little pumpkin head.)

A Vignette in six parts.

I have been waiting to get photographic proof of this behavior before I told the story.

We have been putting books in Savannah’s crib during nap time, because she’s not always immediately ready to go to sleep, so she entertains herself for about 10 minutes and then falls asleep. Every day, I am alerted to the fact that Savannah is awake from her nap by 2-3 thumping sounds followed by babbling and giggling. Can you guess what the thumps are?

When I get to her room she acts likes she has no idea how her books got on the floor.

“Oh dear, Mommy, this is a predicament.”

“But isn’t it funny how the books just FLEW out of my crib?”

“Oh wait, you’re not mad, are you?”

“Of course you’re not! Look how cute I am!!!!”
