We got 1/4 inch of snow the other day and it shut down Austin completely. The dog loved it. ZOOM!
Have I mentioned that I’m an Auntie! Yes, I have, but you don’t know the awesomeness that is my weekly fun times with Maeve. She has finally moved passed the ‘lump’ phase and is smiling and looking at stuff! I LOVE it! Newborns are super cute, but honestly, they are a little boring. But MY niece, who is exceptional in every way, has reminded me how to do stupid things to get her to laugh. She is also the easiest baby that has ever been a baby. I would have had 10 kids if they were as easy as her. What kid sleeps through the night at 7 weeks?
So, if you follow my kid closely, you know that the Olympics are not in her future. She’s not what you would call ‘sporty’. It’s one of the beauties of parenthood – you get what you get (and you don’t get upset). Frankly, I love what we got and have tried to play to her strengths, which appear to be music, singing and acting. It’s not a terrible problem to have really.
In addition to the violin, we have recently taken up guitar. A trip to guitar center later, Savannah is the proud owner of a Fender Mini (PINK, bien sur) and an amp. Yeah, we plugged in. Look at her face though! (also, look at the dog in that one photo – she’s like “super”)
Hello Cleveland!!
Lunch with the best 8 year old I know. For those of you in Austin, we finally made it to Hopdoddy and the hype is for REAL. Amazing burger. Four thumbs up from S and I.
