Oh I am such a good wife. She is the sweetest, Aggie/Longhorn loving girl around. We have told her several times that she is SO lucky that she gets to love the Longhorns AND the Aggies. Seriously, there are few people that get to do that.
Halloween! Such an awesome holiday.
Miss Savannah was a bluebird and looked smashing.
Earlier in the day she was in another costume at school. Every year at The Girls’ School they do an education themed parade on Halloween. Last year was science, this year was Math, so Savannah went as as ‘odd number’ Get it? They were all so cute. Each girl had to get up in front of the entire school and explain her costume. There was some amazing creativity. The woman dressed as Leonardo in the photo is Savannah’s art teacher. The headmistress and all of the teachers were also dressed up – it was great!
On another note, her school had a late start day on November 1st. How cool is that? They didn’t have to be at school until 9 because they didn’t want them all exhausted from Halloween the night before. Brilliant! We love GSA!
As I have mentioned before, something is not a good idea until it is Savannah’s idea. It is the most infuriating thing about her, but I’m going to have to learn to live with it. She comes around on things eventually, but sometimes the wait kills me.
She’s been able to read to some degree since she was three and I love to read, so I’ve been talking about how awesome reading is since that time. HOWEVER, the little stinker would say “I CAN read, but I hate to read”. Le sigh.
Enter last night, as we are reading one of her books before bedtime. (Despite the ‘I hate this!’ complaints, she has to read some to us every night.) She was trucking along and asked if she could continue reading. I asked her if she was maybe coming around to liking reading and she said ‘no, not at all’ then immediately said ‘alright alright! I love chapter books! I love them! I love reading them! Let’s read Chapter 3 too OK?’
Victory in our time…
