SNOW!
ACK! I forgot to put this up yesterday!! My flu head is still not quite right.
Yesterday was Gaga B’s birthday and we wanted to say have a great day and we love you!
So in other news it is FREEZING cold here. Only 16 degrees, which is completely unheard of for Central Texas. Yesterday in the car, Savannah was telling me that she didn’t like the cold. She also doesn’t like it too hot. As she puts it, ‘I only like the weather when it’s a little hot and a little cold’. Fair enough.
She has a plan, though, to warm it up around here. Her idea is to ‘shoot 2000 cups of hot chocolate into the universe, you know, Texas, and then it will rain warm hot chocolate and we won’t be cold anymore.’
The universe, you know, Texas. I’ve been laughing about that for a day now.
The other week when Conor was out of town, Savannah I were tooling around and we ended up at Sephora, which is heaven on Earth for the banana (and I like it too). It was not very busy and the girls working there were looking for something to keep them busy I suppose, so they latched onto Savannah. She got a little makeover and was sent home with her own blue eyeshadow sample and a pack of single use eye shadow applicators.
I’m not really advocating daily eyeshadow wear for my 5 year old, but it DOES crack me up when she comes to the dinner table all made up. Conor asked her the other day “Why are you wearing eyeshadow?” Her response “Because I wanted to look good”.
Next…
There is a Ferrari dealership across from the Central Market we go to. I’m not really sure who in Austin is buying a Ferrari, because it doesn’t really vibe with the feeling of this city, but, to each his own. Good looking cars.
Conor, being a boy, appreciates the look of a Ferrari and has mentioned this to Savannah. He’s called her into the room when Top Gear is testing one and explained the fine Italian racing heritage of the car. For a while, any red car she saw, she would yell “Hey! A Ferrari!”, even if it was a Chevy.
So as we were leaving the grocery store, she saw the cars parked out front of the dealer ship and said “Hey! A Ferrari!” (correctly this time). THEN she said “You know, Daddy wants one of those. They are very expensive, so I was thinking, that since I only need a little money for toys, that I could give my allowance to him for a while so he could save up and get one. Maybe you could do some extra work too Mama and then he could get one”. CUTE!
Starin B Influenza hit Casa Cunningham last week. Savannah is all better and I’m limping along to the finish, but expect to be well soon. Conor is just avoiding us until all temperatures return to normal.
Here’s the week in photos
Oh Savannah is sick…with something. I don’t know – some virus I guess. I was told not to come to the doctor until she had a fever of over 102 for three days. So we are stuck at home doing crafts and watching movies.
This morning we made hats for all of our animals. I don’t know if you’ve ever seen the cartoon Phineus and Ferb, but in that show, they have a pet platypus that turns into a secret agent (just go with it) when he puts on a special hat.
Feel safe Austin, we have created a super group of animal agents that will be on the lookout for evil.
