I can work it for the camera a little

I had a photographer friend take some photos of Savannah and I yesterday. She also took a few of me for my website – it was headshot updating time. Here’s a little preview she sent me.

And yes, I am TOTALLY wearing pink sequined high heels on a park trail.

“That is EASY French” – Savannah listening to my French homework. Yup, I’m in French class.

“You are just a few layers away from Victoria’s Secret model hair.” My lovely hair stylist. Everyone should have someone as wonderful as her to cut their hair.

Gig ‘Em!

Big day for Mama yesterday – Savannah’s first live Aggie game!

It has been SO long since I’ve been back for a game. Living in Seattle was so far and for the last few years, Savannah has been too young to take, so this was a BIG deal for me.

Savannah had a great day, and I have to say that I did too. There is just something about that campus.

She loved:

  1. The snowcone she had.
  2. The giant football players. We were in bleacher seats on the south end (due to a great rec from Kathryn) and were right by where the players came onto the field. As they ran out for the second half and Savannah had her hand out to get a high five, I heard her say ‘Whoa’ as some of the guys ran by. They are very big in person.
  3. Looking for Reville. Our sweet ‘doggie’ mascot was down on the other end of the field.
  4. Tailgating. A friend of mine from high school has a SWEET tailgate setup and we had a ball eating and playing for several hours before the game. Thanks Meggan and Jay!
  5. The Aggie Band. If you’ve seen them, you know what I’m talking about. If you haven’t seen them – there’s bound to be something on YouTube – go look them up. Best. Band. Ever. Savannah was truly speechless when they started to make the block ‘T’ and squealed when they ran off the field.
  6. Telling everyone she knew about ‘ball security’. Conor made her carry a ball around in the morning and then would try to smack it out of her hands in order to teach her about fumbles.
  7. ‘Whooping’
  8. TOUCHDOWNS! There was an interception returned for a touchdown right in front of us, so that was very cool.
  9. The 12th Man Towel. She is still pretty small, so she was accidentally smacking this 20-something guy in front of us. I apologized and he said ‘Sweetheart, keep waving that towel. As long as we’re winning, I don’t care’.

She did not care for saying ‘Howdy’ to people as is the tradition on campus. To quote her ‘Can’t I just say ‘Hello’? Well, can’t win ’em all.

Lovely, lovely day. I can’t wait to go back again soon.

POTD: Helper

I was testing a new light that I was going to use for a shoot and of course roped Savannah into being my model. Here she is ‘helping’ while still trying to watch whatever was on the TV.
