Time Machine Week

So it seems that I have a large house all to myself this week. Conor is in Seattle and Savannah is off on her own spring break trip in Dallas with the Ga-Ga’s. She’ll be there all week. It’s just like when I was 24 except I have slightly more disposable income and most of my friends are not available for bar-hopping as they have their own kids now.

I have mixed feelings as I miss my fellow and little girl tons, but on the plus side, I took a two hour nap today.

So I am counting on the Ga-Ga’s to send lots of pictures this week to act as guest bloggers. Here is the first set.

I drove Savannah to Waco (which is halfway between here and Dallas) to meet my parents, have lunch and make the handoff. S has been soooooo excited about this trip. She has been counting down ‘sleepy-times’ until ‘I get to go to Dallas all by myself!’ Here we are saying goodbye where she told me “I’m sorry you aren’t coming with me, but I’m going to Dallas!” I then asked her if she would call me everyday, to which she replied “I’ll try.” Thanks S.

Also, pardon how terrible I look here – I shot a wedding last night and got veeeeery little sleep. I’m getting a sassy new haircut on Wednesday -will look much better then.

I received these photos this afternoon – apparently Savannah has a new pop-up pink camo tent! Have fun little lady – I’ll miss you!!!!

XOXO,

Mama

Sock Mystery

Remember how I told you that Savannah didn’t get out of her bed – ever? Weeeeelllllll…she’s figured out that there is no electric fence around her bed and has ventured forth.

We figured it out one morning when she was wearing different socks than we put her to bed in. She was really tickled with herself and of course the fact that Conor and I couldn’t stop laughing just spurred her on. She was so sneaky – we didn’t even hear her on the monitor. I did bust her at naptime the other day and just cracked up. She is so funny.

I do think we are entering the nap end game as she pretty much just plays in her room for an hour and then calls to be let out. I suppose I’ll take what I can get.

Seattle!

Some images from the Seattle trip. They are a little out of order, but you’ll get the idea.

The magic, magic ipod stuffed full of Playhouse Disney shows. People kept commenting on how well-behaved Savannah was on the flights and I just smiled and said thank you, all the time thanking the technology gods. At one point, Savannah looked at me and asked “How come I get to watch so much TV?” Because you are quiet and not making the other passengers want to kill themselves or me.

Watching cheese-making at Pike Place Market. Who knew this would be so interesting to her?

Space Needle. We had so much fun seeing all of our friends and their kids. Thanks Sharon and Andrew and Vince and Darcie for hosting us!
